The Key West Art Center holds a Charity Art Show each year to benefit an important organization in the community and this year is supporting the Key West Wildlife Center. To kick off the fundraiser there will be a Plein Air event at the Wildlife Center with Jim Salem October 31st at 10 a.m. Jim will be hosting his weekly Plein Air Class, cost $20, and everyone is invited to learn more about the Wildlife Center. Art from either the Plein Air event or work done at home can be dropped off to The Key West Art Center on November 8th from 10 am til 5 pm. All work will be hanging in a special show for which there will be an opening reception November 15th from 5-7 pm complete with refreshments. The event is open to all members and associate members of the Key West Art Center. Associate membership is $45 per year and includes, among other benefits, participation in two shows during the year and discounts on original artwork and classes. Each artist is allowed two pieces of original art. All 2D media is to be framed and wired, not to exceed 24”x30” including the frame. Maximum size of 3D work must not exceed 70” total of the two longest faces, must be sturdy and have a complementary support stand. Ten percent of sales will be donated to the Wildlife Center and a 20% commission will go to the Key West Art Center.
