The SOS Foundation is hosting our second annual field day from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Bernstein Park in Stock Island.
The event, which is free to children in the community, will feature various games and activities, suchas obstacle course, bounce house, face painting, Zumba/yoga and animals from as well as the Monroe County Fire Department, Sheriff’s Animal Farm, PAL, and a few other local favorites. More than 200 children, plus their parents, attended the event last year.
SOS was founded in 2006 as a single food pantry on Stock Island and now operates two client-choice foodpantries, a community kitchen used to prepare fresh meals program and a nutrition education program.
