ANNIE GOLDEN considers herself the illegitimate child of the legitimate theater having been discovered on the Bowery in the world famous rock club CBGB’s fronting her band The Shirts. Cast by Academy Award-winning film director Milos Forman as Jeannie in his movie musical Hair, she originated the role of Squeaky Fromme in Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins at off-Broadway’s Playwright’s Horizons. On Broadway she appeared in the Tony-nominated revival of Violet, Xanadu, Tony Award-winning The Full Monty, Leader of the Pack, Ah! Wilderness w. Colleen Dewhurst & Jason Robards, On the Town & Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey. Films include Twelve Monkeys, Suddenly Seeking Susan & I Love You Phillip Morris. On TV HBO’s Run, Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, Cheers, Miami Vice and recognizable for five seasons as Norma Romano, the mute inmate in Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, winner of three Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Ensemble. Currently she appears in Fox TV’s Filthy Rich. Golden can be heard on the album of a musical written for her by Tony-nominated composer, Joe Iconis, The Broadway Bounty Hunter.
